Redoubt House is positioned on a small corner building platform atop a ridge, with extensive views to the distant farmland and hills across a steep gully that runs off to the east, and urban views west.
The roof form follows the steep angle of the rising hill to create a double height space over the main living area, with a mezzanine study in the upper reaches.
Low maintenance aluminium weatherboard in shimmering powder coat picks up the colours of the landscape and changes subtly as the light and shade move across the façade throughout the day and the seasons. This is contrasted with a smooth plastered and painted AAC brick.
The building footprint creates a number of options for outdoor living on different sides of the house, imperative for a hilltop site and the inherent winds that come hand in hand with great views.
